New Delhi, Mar. 3: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said he was deeply hurt and pained by what is going on in the Aam Aadmi Party, and added it was a betrayal of the trust that the people of Delhi had reposed in the party.

“I am deeply hurt and pained by what is going on in the party. This is betrayal of trust that Delhi posed in us,” Kejriwal said on Twitter.

“I refuse to be drawn in this ugly battle. Will concentrate only on Delhi’s governance. I won’t let the people’s trust break at all,” he added.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had earlier rubbished reports of a rift within its fold and said it is a clash of ideas.

The AAP’s reaction came in the wake of reports that senior members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan had offered to opt out of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC)

Senior AAP leader Admiral L. Ramdas had earlier written a letter to Kejriwal as well as party members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, expressing concern over the growing divide and trust within the party.

Ramdas, in his letter, reportedly drew the attention of the founding members to the importance of ‘internal unity’ and appealed for a quick resolution.
