In a move that may have been planned move, Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly offered his resignation from the post of the AAP’s national convenor.

The resignation has been sent and Kejriwal has reportedly said that he wants to concentrate only on the governance of Delhi.

Kejriwal has reportedly said that he was overburdened by the two posts and hence was resigning from one of them.

The resignation would be in line with the party’s ‘one-post’ policy in which a leader can’t hold more than one post.

Kejriwal had offered to resign earlier as well but his demand was rejected at the time. How this will affect the party’s planned action against Yadav and Bhushan remain to be seen.

AAP leader Ashutosh said that Kejriwal had offered to resign in February on the grounds that he couldn’t do justice to his role as the national convenor. We had rejected the resignation, he said

“It is nothing new and the resignation was pending with the national executive,” he said.

He refused to comment on the comments made by fellow spokesperson Ashish Khetan.

However, CNN-IBN reports that Kejriwal is likely to send a fresh note to the national executive seeking that his resignation be accepted.
