New Delhi,April 24: With no end to the political blame game over farmer Gajendra Singh’s sad death at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Wednesday, the family of the dead is still trying hard to come in terms with the loss.

Gajendra Singh’s father, blaming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said that the latter’s mistake had cost his son’s life. “If Kejriwal is apologising, it means he agrees that he committed a mistake. I had to lose my son due to his mistake,” said Singh’s father soon after Kejriwal accepted his mistake of continuing his speech despite the farmer committing suicide.

Still trying to come in terms with the death of her son, Singh’s mother said Kejriwal’s apology was of no use now. “My son is dead. He is not going to come back,” she lamented.

On the other hand, Singh’s brother has demanded an immediate enquiry into the death of his brother. “All leaders should have tried to save Gajendra. If immediate action would have been taken, my brother would have been alive today. Such people do not deserve to be in politics,” said a grief stricken Singh’s brother.

Gajendra Singh, a resident of Nangal Jhamarwada village in Dausa, had on Wednesday tied a cloth to a tree and committed suicide at AAP’s rally venue. He had also left an alleged suicide note stating that he had three children and had been disowned by his father due to crop damage after recent rains and hailstorm.
