Mumbai,March 30: Yuvraj Singh has asked cricket fans to respect the personal lives of his colleague Virat Kohli and his girlfriend Anushka Sharma who have come under attack after Kohli scored a single run against Australia in the World Cup semi final.
Sharma was blamed for Kohli’s performance and came under a storm of sexist tweets that targeted her for “distracting” the batsman during the all important match.
“To all our real Indian fans who support us in our wins and loses ! Let’s respect @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma personal life,” Singh tweeted.

Sharma, who was present in the audience in Sydney, looked dejected after Kohli was caught out by Brad Haddin off Mitchell Johnson’s bowling.
Singh, an all-rounder who helped India win the title in 2011, was left out of the World Cup squad. He was the player of the tournament in 2011.
Singh returned to international cricket following cancer treatment.
