Kochi,March 24: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Monday lashed out at the English daily Times of India for allegedly ‘publishing falsehoods’ about him regarding his wife Sunanda Pushkar death case.
The English daily on Monday reported that Tharoor said to the media outside KeralaHigh Court that Pushkar’s case was that of a suicide and not murder. The report claimed that Tharoor’s said that Pushkar’s family too believed it was a suicide case and hence stood by him. It adds that he said that the police can question anyone including Mehr Tahr and he had nothing to hide. The report does not quote him directly.
Calling the daily ‘shameless’ Tharoor on Tuesday responded to the news item saying he had never said that Pushkar’s death was a suicide case. He said that he never held the view attributed to him the report.
Shameless @TOIIndiaNews outdoes itself by attributing a view2me I’ve never held. I’ve never said suicide. Lies again http://t.co/Hq6nMooepC

He said that the daily has ‘repeatedly spread falsehoods but this was the last straw’. Tharoor has said to he will take legal action against the daily.
Lying @TOIIndiaNews has repeatedly published falsehoods but thus is the last straw. Will take legal action. They are not journalists.
