London,April 9: Is there anyone sexier than Sofía Vergara?
The Hot Pursuit star looks hotter than ever on the cover of Vanity Fair’s May issue. Vergara strikes a sultry pose while wearing a low-cut crimson dress that accentuates her famous cleavage. “My boobs are, like, huge,” Vergara says. “My whole life, buying a bra was a nightmare. What I used to do when I moved to L.A., I found places like Frederick’s of Hollywood that make bras for streetwalkers.”
Vergara clarifies that she’s not talking about “hookers,” saying, “I can’t think of the word.” After a moment, she says, “You know…dancers…Strippers. Skinny girls with gigantic boobs.”
Sometimes, she envies strippers. “Believe me, I wish I had fake boobs. I lay down and they completely go down like all the way, like here,” says Vergara, who is endowed with natural 32F breasts. “It’s not fun.”
Vergara doesn’t mind talking about her assets in interviews, any why should she? What she does mind, however, is when fashion critics chastise her for wearing similar silhouettes. “Sometimes you read in the press like, ‘Oh, Sofía is wearing again the same shape dress,’ and I want to answer them and say, ‘What the f–k do you want me to wear?'” she complains. “Obviously there’s a reason why that’s what I go for.”
Vergara knows what her brand is, and embracing her sexuality is a big part of it.
The Modern Family star earns a reported $325,000 per episode. Thanks to her multiple endorsement deals, Forbes reported that Vergara earned $37 million last year, making her TV’s highest-paid actress.
“I’m the perfect candidate for any endorsement, because they hire me and hit the English and Spanish markets at the same time,” says the Colombian-American actress, who is the face of AT&T, CoverGirl, Diet Pepsi and Head & Shoulders. She also has deal with HSN, Kay Jewelers and Kmart, among others.
Vergara prides herself on being a savvy businesswoman. “I never wanted to be an actress. I take acting as a gift, because it was nothing that I ever dreamed about growing up,” she says. She still plans to act, but she admits that roles won’t come easily. “I’m limited because of my accent, the way I look. And if I want to do more serious stuff I think I’m going to have to end up producing it myself,” she says. “There is one thing that I want to do one day, and my son is the one that has encouraged me. He said that I should do a movie, and the character should be a crazy woman. Abusive or bipolar—a scary person.”
The actress’ professional life is thriving, and so is her personal life. Last year, Joe Manganiello proposed after a whirlwind romance. “The day that I sent the press release [announcing my split with fiancé Nick Loeb], Joe immediately contacted Jesse Tyler Ferguson, like, ‘Please, please, please tell her I want her number.’ And I’m like, ‘Jesse, no. He’s too handsome,'” Vergara says. “Then, after two days of Jesse trying to convince me, I’m like, ‘OK. Give him my number.’ I’m thinking, ‘I’m in New Orleans shooting [Hot Pursuit], and he’s in L.A. [getting ready to film Magic Mike XXL]. Nothing’s going to happen.’ But we started talking a lot, and then he showed up in New Orleans. Since then we’ve been inseparable.”
“There’s nothing about him I’d change other than the fact that he’s four years younger than me.”
Will Vergara, 42, and Manganiello, 38, have kids someday?
“My son, Manolo, is 23 years old, which is going to be really weird if I have an- other baby. But, you know, Joe wants babies and if it’s going to make him super-happy, then—” Vergara says, trailing off.
Vanity Fair’s May issue will be on national newsstands Apr. 14.
