Kochi (Kerala), Mar.5 : A public prosecutor appointed to prosecute the owner of the Hummer that killed a security guard has said that he will placing emphasis on the victim’s dying statement during the trial.

C.P. Udaybhanu told ANI, “Police have taken a statement of the deceased before he had succumbed. It is a question to be considered only during the trial.”

“I can only say whatever has to be said only after going through the case file, if I am appointed as a prosecutor, we will present the materials before the court.

Udaybhanu’s statement came six days after a senior police officer of Kerala was suspended for allegedly violating procedures and secretly meeting Muhammed Nisham-the businessman accused of ramming a security guard in Thrissur with his Hummer.

Superintendent of Police Jacob Job was posted as the Thrissur City Commissioner and he had conducted the initial investigation into the case. A departmental inquiry concluded that his meetings with Nisham could have led to lapses in investigation.

The guard, 47-year-old Chandrabose, worked at Sobha city, a posh residential township at Thrissur where Nisham lives.

On January 29, Nisham allegedly mowed him down with his Hummer car in a fit of rage for a delay in opening the gate.

The guard succumbed to injuries on February 16.

Nisham, owner of King Beedi Co, was allegedly in an inebriated state when he assaulted the man.
