New Delhi, Apr. 1 : Passengers will now be able to book their train tickets four months in advance, starting today, as the Railways has increased the advance reservation period for booking the tickets from 60 to 120 days.
However, there will be no change in case of 360 days limit for foreign tourists.
The revised rates of platform ticket have also been implemented from today.
It will now cost Rs 10 instead of five.
“All the burden will come on the common man,” said a passenger.
Meanwhile, another passenger felt that increase in platform ticket price will control the unauthorised entry of people on the platform
“The increase in platform ticket price should not bother the public much. With low cost ticket it was difficult to maintain the cleanliness. But, now when it has been increased the unauthorised entry of people might be controlled,” said another passenger.
