So, as expected, Team India, after registering a victory over West Indies, is still holding the top spot in the points tally in the pool B. Similarly, New Zealand after defeating Australia in a close encounter has been able to hold the fort in the pool A.
In the quarters, India is likely to take on Sri Lanka, England or Bangladesh, as they will finish fourth in their group. Supporters of Team India, must pray that India face Bangladesh to secure a berth in the semifinal.
Likewise in the pool B, Ireland or Pakistan are likely to finish fourth and face New Zealand. In pool B however, Pakistan has consolidated its position so far but a lot will depend on the results of the remaining matches of group stage.Although India has done well so far but no one can predict the outcome of the quarter finals as it will be a straight out eliminating round which means that there is no scope of any complacency.
In fact, many of the fans do believe that the battle will be intensified and a hell lot of the opportunities for India depend honestly on the bowling performance of India.
