Emmi turns 36 today…
Born on March 24, 1979, Emraan Hashmi has moved on to become one of the biggest names in the film industry. His popularity has risen from humble beginnings and today he stands among the crowd of superstars as one of the strongest. So what all did go into making of this super star? Lets have a limpid glance on his birthday….
Serial kisser
The tag of serial kisser got attached to Emraan from his very second film Murder, where he was seen liplocking with Mallika Sherawat. Since then every movie of his has had a liplock scene, which has been the USP of the film. However, when Emmi decided to break the mould and stop kissing onscreen, his films started bombing at the box office. He soon realised his mistake and went back to his old ways and soon enough regained his lost popularity and status among the stars.
Musical maestro
The tag of musical maestro got attached to Emraan from his very first film Footpath. The music in his films has always been topping charts. Whether it was Bheege honth tere or Jhalak dikhhla jaa or Pee loon or Haal-e-dil or Dance basanti, all his songs have been topping the music charts. His association with Himesh Reshammiya yielded some of the most popular music albums and that made him different from the gamut of superstars in B-Town.
Carved a niche
The various tags that Emraan has earned over the years have made him a big superstar. However, he hasn’t ever tried to compete with the Khans or the Kumars or the Devgns or the Kapoors. He has always maintained his separate stardom and whenever his films come, they get a huge opening just on his name. This freedom has allowed him to be vocal about other stars and Bollywood in general. He has never stopped himself from bad mouthing about any other actor or filmmaker, however big a name they must have been. That shows how much faith he has in his own talents. A big thing, which other superstars of today don’t possess.
